Working hard or hardly working?

Date: 08-28-2017

We had lots of service this week. And I'm not going to lie. I really really enjoy working extremely hard. I enjoy feeling like I've accomplished something. We pulled lots of ivy and I also may or may not have had my finger chopped with garden shears. #ZoneLeadersForTheWin

Something that was way cool. The investigator that we found last week, who I was able to give the first vision to and felt the spirit working through me, she didn't show up for our next appointment. But when we knocked on her door again a man answered and told us that she was sooooo excited to learn more about the gospel. It was way cool because he was also open to us coming and talking to him.

Honestly we're working really hard, but I don't have much to say this week. What I do know, is that God wants me to be here and He wants me working. I'm way excited to work hard.

Walnutty Groovy part 2?

It's been such a dang good week this week!

I'm not going to lie, (I'm a missionary, I can't lie) last week and the beginning of this week were pretty rough. But, because of it I got to see how much Heavenly Father loves me and it was a pretty neat experience.

Monday night I knelt down and said a prayer to Heavenly Father asking him to show me that He loves me. (as If He hasn't done enough already. #Selfish). The next day we had a young women come out on a mini mission with us, (She's basically a missionary for 2 days) and it was way cool because we did some shotgun tracting and were able to meet this lady, who said she didn't know anything about the Book of Mormon. We were able to share the first vision with her and teach her about the B

ook of Mormon and how we have a return appointment with her. The spirit was so strong and as I was reciting the first vision I could feel Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost working through me and it was really cool that Heavenly Father trusted me enough to use me as an instrument to help our sister.

Then on Tuesday, we were driving and we get this call from the mission office saying thAT MEGAN WAS GETTING BAPTIZED HOLY COW. I'M FREAKING OUT HOLY COW.
So we got to go back to walnut grove and see her get baptized on Saturday! Megan was my first investigator I found! It was so much fun and I was so happy for her! The spirit was so strong and I know that she is going to receive so many blessings from her righteous decisions!

It was really cool because Heavenly Father was showing me that he loves me. Others could have looked at it like "I did all the work for that. That's because of something that I've done." But really it was because Heavenly Father cared about me and was willing to show me. It was very humbling!

I promise you that if you look for the miracles or look for God's hand in your life, you will find them.

Hello Fam & Friends of Sister Hansen,

This last p-day got away from Sister Hansen and she wasn't able to get a group e-mail sent. I did receive a couple of photos this week from church members in her area that I've attached. How did Mom's survive before the internets?

Also, it would be awesome if you had a minute or two to send her an email and share a bit of your testimony with her this week. I think it would show her we are finding joy and that will add to her ☀️JOY☀️.

Love to you all,

This week has been a wild one! Sister Vanderplas and I decided we were going to be serious about this biking issue and we bought leggings to cut and wear under our skirts (I'm not serious enough to actually get biking shorts. Lolz) so we went HAM this week on the bikes. But then!, tender mercy from the Lord, President got us a car for at least 2 weeks at this point.

One thing that happened this week! It was such a cool miracle! So we've been having active member lessons, but our areabook glitched and we thought we had finding time. So we went to a potential investigators house and got to talk with her for a little bit. She told us she was super interested in why Mormons seem to have so much light, and so much happiness. How can they be so kind.

This hit me super hard. One of the things people look for in life is just overall happiness, and while Mormons don't have perfect lives, others can literally feel Gods spirit pouring off of you. And I just think that's one of the coolest things! Let your spirit shine for others! And don't take it for granted!

I love that I can say I have the light of Christ in me. I know Christ lives. This gospel is true!
